Sir David Brown

In 1947, a small British car manufacturer was purchased by an entrepreneur Sir David Brown for £20,500.

He focused the company on producing a car which improved on the ‘Atom’ a prototype constructed in 1939.

David Brown’s subsequent models had the prefix of his initials. Within nine years the Aston Martin DB1 was first displayed at a motor show in 1948.

A car build uniqely for the latest James Bond film Spectre. Created by Aston Martin with the film makers EON productions, the car was unveiled at the 007 set at Pinewood Studios on the 4th of December 2014.

Bond started with a DB5 series and the relationship with Aston Martin has developed to a point that one brand without the other would be unthinkable. The car manufacturer sees this latest project as a showcase for the direction it is taking towards in future designs for the modern generation of Aston Martin clients.

The release of Spectre and the DB10 marks 50 years of the special relationship between these two brands.

Just 10 cars will be built and Spectre is due for release in November 2015.

Tree crushes Aston Martin in 45mph winds

An Aston Martin was crushed underneath a 50ft tree in a street in Islington, yards from the home of the Lord Mayor Boris Johnson. No one was hurt in the incident although one resident was trapped because the tree was blocking her door. The resident reported it to the Council and it took two hours for tree surgeons to remedy the situation.
